Emma Morton & The Graces
Emma Morton – Voice | Piero Perelli – Drums | Luca Giovacchini – Guitar
“The best music on the Italian scene today”
(Ernesto Assante, La Repubblica)
“Sophisticated yet really fucking raw – “Bitten by the Devil” contaminates us with roots, jazz, blues and hints of Scottish folk. Emma’s sublime and untamed vocals unite distant worlds as we journey through her rhythmic rebirth album.” (Prince Faster)

BITTEN BY THE DEVIL by Emma Morton + the Graces was released in May 2018.  The album was independently written and arranged by the band, and produced alongside Andrea Ciacchini.
It oozes with interesting collaborations and guests such as Raphael Gualazzi (Piano), Gabriele Evangelista (Doublebass), Matteo Buzzanca (Platinum Album Songwriter), Antonio Gramentieri (Sacri Cuori, Don Antonio), and GRAMMY AWARD WINNER Gene Paul.
“When I started writing material for EM+TG’s new album I knew it was time to stop trying to delicately sew sounds around me and count on glitter thread. I had to get deep into the mud, roll my sleeves up and start moulding my own dark sound shadow from the roots and tell real stories of my own hard times, heavy strides. Throughout the process of writing, producing and performing the album I began to regularly exorcise some of the Devils who had held the upper hand over my head and heart for years. Together with The Graces I translated these stories into the wild soundscape and wicked journey that is BITTEN BY THE DEVIL. Luca and Piero have ancient souls, they know how to get in there and pull the raw truth out of me, colouring it on the way, making it glint from the dark. Songs like Dirty John and Bitten by the Devil deal directly with the emotional and psychological scars left by the destructive male figures I encountered during my early life. They are in a way, my first rebellion against the defeat I had let myself slip into, against the definition I had allowed others to give me, within these songs I am able to confront the past with strength and knowledge and find my own sense of self, of justice, freedom and beauty.” Emma Morton

… An incredibly refined singer-songwriter who catapults the listener into a celestial yet tangible sonic journey of conflict, all of which is sublimated into well crafted, honest lyrics and raw, liberating songs” - Italian Music Review
Emma Morton & the Graces is Emma’s latest musical project with drummer Piero Perelli (Dana Fuchs, Don Antonio) and guitarist Luca Giovacchini (Bobby Johnson, Frank Frost, Sam Reed, Maurizio Geri).
Combining elements of vintage Jazz, homespun Scottish Folk, and earthy Blues, Emma Morton & the Graces transcend these to become an emotionally engaging act that is truly unique and very hard to pigeon-hole - they are challenging musical tradition while exploring social + political themes like immigration, sex, depression + gender.
It is in the live arena that this trio really come into their own. Their performances project a sincerity and passion that is highly infectious, time and again winning over new audiences
Thank you!
